Bylaw Amendment Process

Ontario Council's bylaws belong to its member clubs. Any club may propose an amendment for consideration at the AGM. Amendments are submitted to the Ontario Council President. The steps below outline what to prepare and the deadline you'll need to meet.

Any proposed amendments to the CFUW Ontario Council Constitution and Bylaws must be compliant with the following process.

Item 1:

Final submissions for proposed Amendments (Form 1) or Amendments to
proposed Amendments to the Bylaws (Form 2), must be fully completed and
submitted by email to president@cfuwontcouncil.org.

Item 2:

All proposed amendments (Form 1) must be received on or before March 1st to be considered.

Item 3:

A package of the Proposed Amendments will be emailed and posted on the Ontario Council website for clubs for study and evaluate.

Item 4:

Amendments to the Proposed Amendments (Form 2) must be received on or before April 1st.

Item 5:

At the AGM, only proposed amendments and amendments to the amendments received by the deadline(s) will be permitted. No additional bylaw amendments or amendments to the amendments are allowed from the floor.

Bylaw elements that are legally required by the Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act must be instituted and any amendments to these clauses must be legally consistent.
