2026 Carolyn Day Award Winner

Congratulations to CFUW Stratford for their Sustainable Shopping Cart project. The Sustainable Shopping Cart involves a poster board table, sustainable packages and food items in an actual grocery shopping cart focussing on shopping to reduce Carbon emissions and the use of pesticides, to preserve responsible agriculture, to preserve the environment, biodiversity, and the health of our planet and to shop Canadian. This project was featured widely in local news and social media bringing attention to sustainability and the Stratford club. While the shopping information in CFUW Startford's Factsheet is specific to the Stratford area, the concept can easily be translated to other communities. And Honorable Mention to the St. Catharine’s Environmental Action Group for their work in helping to reduce e-waste in the community by addressing Reducing, Reusing and Safe Disposal of e-waste.
