Elevator Pitch

Sept 3, 2026

When people hear our name, Canadian Federation of University Women (Ontario Council), the word ‘University’ usually stands out. We keep that in our name as a proud homage to our 1919 founders, who fiercely fought for women’s right to education, including higher education.

But today, we are an unstoppable, non-partisan advocacy powerhouse open to all women. Driven by a shared commitment to lifelong learning, advocacy, friendship, and fellowship, our clubs across the province turn passion into policy. We are actively on the ground tackling urgent systemic issues—like gender-based violence, pay equity, and environmental stewardship.

Essentially, we take the pioneering spirit of our founders and use our collective power to advocate for a safer, more equitable Ontario today!
